What is FINAL FANTASY IX about?
Originally released on the very first PlayStation, FINAL FANTASY IX is a thrilling tale of love, war, magic and self-discovery.
When Zidane and the Tantalus Theater Troupe kidnap Princess Garnet, the heir of Alexandria, they’re surprised to find that the princess herself is desperate to escape the castle.
Before long, Zidane, Garnet and personal guard Steiner are on an epic journey across continents. Along the way, they’ll meet unforgettable characters like Vivi and Quina, and take on a malevolent force that threatens to destroy the world.
The best way to play FINAL FANTASY IX
The Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Windows 10 versions of FINAL FANTASY XI contain all the updates and improvements from the PlayStation 4 and PC releases.
All character models are now in HD, so you can see Zidane, Garnet, Steiner and the rest of the gang in more detail than ever before. Unfortunately, that also include Queen Brahne in all her grotesque glory - look, sometimes improving the visuals cuts both ways.
It’s not just the in-game characters though - the movies are now in high-definition too. FINAL FANTASY IX is full of absolutely beautiful pre-rendered cutscenes and they look better than ever before.

High speed mode - A simple click of the stick is all it takes to activate this feature, which lets you speed up time - essentially letting you play the game at a much faster pace.

Auto save functionality - FINAL FANTASY IX now auto-saves regularly, so you don’t need to worry if your valuable gaming time is interrupted before you reach a save point.

Master All Abilities booster - This feature allows players to instantly master weapons and gear and gain access to all their abilities.

Maximize character level magic stones and gil - These three features, found in the config menu, let you boost your character level, magic stone count, and money (gil) to the highest count possible.
